Born in 2001, Catie Keane resides in Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently pursuing a BFA in photography at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Her work explores the beauty and simplicity of her personal life, focusing on family dynamics and portraits of those close to her. The female gaze is a key part of her photography, as her view of the world and experience as a young woman are innate to her and therefore, seep into her art. Capturing the intimacy of human connection, the relationship between her subjects and her becomes palpable in the gazes of those she photographs. Last year she was awarded the Gertrude Kasebier prize for sophomores at Massart.
